Singapore is a meritocratic society, it is pointless to appoint minorities and women to the CEC just because of their race or gender. If that happens, we are just promoting active discrimination. If the minority race or gender cannot go into the CEC through their own credentials. They should never be in the CEC in the 1st place.

I am thoroughly disappointed that WP didn't make it a priority to have more women. One Sylvia is not enough!

There's a reason why many qualified and successful people are unwilling to step out and participate in politics, especially joining PAP.

For the additional $16K per month, you have to loose your privacy, and put in a lot of personal time and commitment, sacrificing time you have for your own family. If you already earn 5 digits and above monthly, you'll probably rather do without the additional $16k. What's more, joining PAP usually subjects one to ridicule and public distain because of their association with the uncaring elites. Most people would superficially show you respect and be courteous to you because you are a VIP MP, but behind your back they are disgusted with you.

Those who genuinely want to serve the society, there are many other avenues available. Including joining opposition parties, or linking up with religious groups or charities.

They join so that they can get POWER as well as WEALTH. Once u are MP u get head hunted by companies to get directorships etc. Wasnt there an MP that got 20 Directorships? Supposing each directorship pays 10k..that is 200K per mth to do nothing. so good I also want,...

I am just speaking the truth. If they cant handle it, too bad. If they get in through their own capabilities, I have no issues with that. But if they get the position due to their race than they should be kicked out cos more likely than not, they will fuck up the job anyway.

Look at Yakult, muslim affairs minister or what ever, even his own people cant stand him.

Look at Vivian, the man with the gals name, he is some half breed asshole, fuck up almost every ministry he is in and yet still ministar,,does any minority sympathise with him?

Look at Zorro Lim Sia Suay. he is a majority chinese, but how many Chinese support him?

So race should never be the determinant, it should be capability, u incompetent and Chinese, u still get fucked,,,look at Pinky, Cedric Fool, Tuck Yew, and the other jokers,,,need I say more?
