Three foreigners held for forging credit, cash cards

The Nation September 21, 2013 1:00 am

Three foreigners have been arrested for allegedly forging credit and cash cards and using them to withdraw money from overseas victims' accounts through ATM machines.

Robin John Faulkner, 25, and David Andersen Evans, 26, both from Britain, were apprehended last Thursday night at a Kasikorn Bank branch in Samut Prakan by plainclothes policemen in a stakeout.

Both men were in possession of several fake cards and a skimmer machine. A search at their apartment turned up 223 fake cards.

Police later arrested Taiwanese Fang Keng-Nien, 27, after a tip-off from the two suspects. A raid later turned up another 109 fake cards and Bt760,900 in their possession.

Police said the three suspects had acquired some Bt3 million by skimming cash or credit cards.

All three suspects have been charged with forging and using electronic cards. Nien also faces the charge of overstaying his visa.
