Three drown after Vellfire skids and lands in ditch

Three people travelling in a Toyota Vellfire were killed when their vehicle skidded and landed in a two-metre-deep ditch along the Sultan Iskandar Highway. The victims – two women and a man – are believed to have been trapped inside their multiple-purpose-vehicle and drowned. They were Chu Wei Yean, 28, Aw Siew Chern, 35, and Chu Wan Rou, 31. Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Haizrul Rahmad said the rescue team found the victims inside the MPV upon arriving at the scene.
