Three men have been charged with murder after a father of two was bashed to death on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

The 45-year-old man was kicked and punched outside a kebab shop at Maroochydore just after 3:00am (AEST) on Saturday.

He was taken to Nambour General Hospital but could not be revived.

A 24-year-old man from North Arm, and two 27-year-old men - one from Buderim and one from Coolum - have each been charged with one count of murder.

The incident occurred after the man had attended a nightclub, Factory: The Project, on Horton Parade.

Witnesses have told police the businessman and father of two argued with the men briefly before he was allegedly king hit and bashed in front of customers and staff in the shop.

Detectives studied security camera footage to identify the attackers and the footage is expected to be used in court.

There were no weapons involved. At this early stage, all can I say is that it appears to be an assault that has occurred," Queensland Police Detective Inspector Dave Drinnen said.

Nightclub extends sympathy to man's family and friends

The club released a statement saying it supported the One Punch Can Kill campaign and would help police with their inquiries.

"The management and staff of Factory the Project would like to extend their sympathy to the family and friends of a patron who passed away after being involved in an alteration at Maroochydore's Sunshine Plaza Riverwalk," the statement said.

"We are devastated by the incident which occurred after the venue closed.

"These senseless assaults break the fabric of society and ruins countless lives.

"Please look out for your mates while you are celebrating this festive season."

The three men will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.

A fourth man was also interviewed by police but was not charged.
