This case supports not to hanky panky where you work or with people you work with. Keep separate (A) work and (B) outside-of-work lives. When (A) intersects with (B), freedom and range of action will be very limited, so why bother?

That’s why I never have friends as insurance or property agents etc. so that when I feel like scolding them or cutting ties, I do so without reservations. Vice versa, I also cut ties in advance with friends who are agents becoz it is a matter of time they beg me to buy their shit.
