Jannie Tsuei, who started as an intern at US bank giant Morgan Stanley in New York in 2011, has been made its chief operating officer for South-east Asia investment banking in just seven years, according to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg.

7 years must be a top sleeping achiever.
Had nail the right bed to sleep on.

If you read the article, this is more of a case of right place, right time when Morgan Stanley's senior staffs (the real capable ones) left for better jobs at the same time. So, instead of hiring external, they decide to scrap the bottom of the barrel. Don't worry, they won't last long.
