A 31-year-old woman agreed to accompany a man she met online to a budget hotel, after he reassured her they were just going there to "kiss".

Little did she know that 37-year-old Ng Han Tong had more in mind, including sex.

For that, the former IT system analyst, was sentenced to three years jail and six strokes of the cane, after he pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a reduced charge of aggravated molest.

Ng, who is married, got to know the woman through online social networking site Facebook in January 2010.

The court heard that they started exchanging explicit chats and Ng was under the impression she was "willing to have sex with a male friend that she was comfortable with."

Two months later on March 5, 2010, Ng suggested going to a hotel to "kiss" - which the woman agreed to.

After having drinks at a pub, they proceeded to Hotel 81 at Jiak Chuan Road, where they kissed and Ng started to undress her, despite attempts to push him away. Ng then proceeded to have unprotected sex with her.

The woman left the hotel angry and told her friends the next day that she had been raped. A police report was made.

Ng's lawyer, Mr R S Wijaya, said Ng had "acted in a moment of folly" and assumed the woman was "comfortable to have sex". However, Deputy Public Prosecutor Sabrina Choo disputed this, saying her agreeing to the kiss should not be inferred as consent to have sex.

A psychiatric report revealed Ng suffered from an adjustment disorder and was stressed over the inability to conceive with his wife.

The court heard Ng coped with these tendencies in a "dysfunctional way" such as drinking and contacting women he knew online and in pubs.

For his offence, Ng could have been sentenced up to ten years jail and caned.

Both also not in the right frame of mind but the man is more stupid as it seems! Got hit by the Jack in the box...wat a surprise! Wahaha...

Ng Han Tong vs Seng Han Tong. Han Tong name better not use. Kena BBQ or go jail.

Still can't understand the 31 yr old victim. Go hotel to kiss? Wtf. How was the act completed when victim could have screamed for help? Rush out of the room etc. Fishy.

This is what you get for not pleasing the women by making her "come".

Wah....sexual chat and go hotel still dunno it is to fuck?

Unless the women is low in IQ, how is it possible that she dun know.

Next time how lah? Must explicitly tell the women "Let's go hotel for a fuck" then can? This will make it sound so crude.

An IT analyst who faced a rape charge after forcing himself on a woman he met after two dates had the offence reduced to one of aggravated outrage of modesty instead.

Ng Han Tong, 37, also known as Jimmy Ng, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years' jail and six strokes of the cane yesterday.

The Straits Times reported that he and the 31-year-old woman first met online in January 2010 before meeting in person in March.

Ng, who is married, went with the woman to a karaoke pub, and took a walk on a Sentosa beach, where they then kissed.

He tried to touch the woman inappropriately that night, but she resisted.

On their second date the next day, he suggested that they meet, and they ended up in a Chinatown hotel room after visiting a pub. The court was told that she agreed to go to the hotel upon his reassurance that they would only kiss.

However, Ng then tried to remove the woman's clothes, even though she tried to push him away. He also ignored her when she said she did not want to have sex with him.

The court was told that Ng tried to persuade her to perform various sex acts, but she resisted most of his suggestions.

He proceeded to have sex with her anyway, and did not use a condom.

The woman left the hotel in a taxi after that and reported him to the police for rape the next day.

In mitigation, Ng's lawyer R.S Wijaya said that Ng had been stressed and unhappy because he and his wife was unable to conceive at the time of the offence. Ng's wife, also an IT analyst, had forgiven him and expressed that she had no wish to divorce him in a letter to the court, as he was a 'caring and understanding husband'.

Ng's wife described him as a fillial son who was popular among his colleagues and lent his time to charitable causes for the elderly and needy families.

It was unclear why the rape charge was reduced to one of outrage of modesty. The maximum sentence for the latter offence is a jail term of between two and 10 years and caning.

Well at least his wife is understanding enough.

You tell the pinay maid that you are brining her to a hotel, she automatically knows, you are going there for a ________!, no need to tell why, what & when. Just say, how much that is all.

Stupid guy's fault. Obviously the girl was looking for a good time which he failed to provide. Prematuredly ejaculate in the girl without condom somemore!
