This is why you shouldnt drive a Toyota Vios in the rain. Cheap but can kill you

Toyota chasis is like soft plastic. Press it hard and it will sink in. Its fuel efficiency comes at the expense of safety.

Impressed with the windshield wipers, they still stand proudly after the crash. Like a teenager's lanjiao.

It just showed how safe Vios is, no one died.

Almost all the modern Jap cars on the road meet the 5 star ANCAP rating. If you see a crumpled area it's because it was designed that way in order to absorb energy during impact. In the meantime the passenger compartment shell has to be sturdy enough to withstand the impact.

The absorbed energy has to go somewhere.

Subaru most solid
Totally agree. How could I have forgotten my beloved B4:wink:
But seriously, after owning both before, Mazda & Subaru tops the list

Crumple zones are shit. Last time, I drove a 200SX. Along Jalan Eunos before the turn to PIE Changi airport, one Merc E200 suddenly jam brake infront of me at the bus stop of the former Eunos Mansion. BAM, my 200SX smashed right into its arse. We both came down to inspect the damage. The Merc owner actually took his handkerchief out to swoosh off my paint from his bumper & said, "AH DI AH, NEXT TIME DON'T DRIVE SO FAST!" I wash like in shock!!!!!! Not bcos of what he said but cos my 200SX whole front smash till like dunno what. Totally not drive able anymore, had to call a tow truck to tow it away. The Merc??? He drove off & said won't claim me as his car NO DAMAGE!!!!!

That stupid merc fault but under local law, its your fault.
E200 could be from earlier model. New ones will have crumple zones, plus designed to minimise pedestrian injury.
Merc maybe no insurance or driver license, thats why he quickly ran off.
