I think if he was alone it will be of much less risk.
Likely he was pressured by her to cross.
We should be gauging ourselves when crossing a road. Do not let others judgements mixup with yours

He slowed down when he was near the finishing line, and didn't arch his chest forward like your namesake Karl (Lewis) or another famous oar ter, Usain Bolt. Instead, he chose to play the role of gentleman and allowed the lady to get onto the pavement first. It was that moment of gentlemanliness that cost him his life.

The motorbike was too fast in a populated area. No safety conscience. Not the fault of pedestrian at all. Nobody expect vehicles to travel at ridiculous speed in town.
