If Islamic banking involves 'interest', which it should not, then the blame lies with the bank.
What it got to do with consumer?
At least consumer can sleep with clear conscience knowing he did not bank with interest-bearing/charging banks.
If the banks themselves engage in sth un-Islamic, little choice left for the consumers. as they say, a good conscience is a soft pillow
Like in Malaysia, or stinkypura, or elsewhere (like Japan, Thailand etc), if Halal logo does not signify actual halal contents, then little any consumer can do.
You can't expect an average consumer anywhere to go and investigate the exact contents of every single food beverage cosmetic clothing or biotech products or whatever other items that need Halal certification.
So long as the certifying body/authority works well, consumers got no worries.

Up to individual. Some easy going type. Got halal logo...can leow. In sinkieland, no problem. Can check with MUIS website on restaurant with halal cert. If oversea, then u have to pandai pandai lah. But thats just me. I cant answer for the rest of my Muslim bros/sis.
