The former secretary of the town council run by the Workers' Party (WP), Mr Danny Loh Chong Meng, 55, died over a week ago while on holiday abroad.

The Straits Times understands that Mr Loh had an "accidental fall" in Japan. He died on June 27, and his body was flown back to Singapore.

His wake in Yishun began yesterday, and the cremation will take place on Tuesday.
