Just noticed this in a popular aggregater site. I also noticed that we are running vBulletin 4.2.0, But better be safe then sorry. This is also an opportunity for the clones, IB PAP, IB anti-PAP to get a foothold on this forum. Sam, any comment on this? How safe are we with this exploits?

Potential vBulletin Exploit (vBulletin 4.1+, vBulletin 5+)
Tue 27th Aug '13, 12:23pm
A potential exploit vector has been found in the vBulletin 4.1+ and 5+ installation directories. Our developers are investigating this issue at this time. If deemed necessary we will release the necessary patches. In order to prevent this issue on your vBulletin sites, it is recommended that you delete the install directory for your installation. The directories that should be deleted are:

4.X - /install/
5.X - /core/install

After deleting these directories your sites can not be affected by the issues that we’re currently investigating.

vBulletin 3.X and pre-4.1 would not be affected by these issues. However if you want the best security precautions, you can delete your install directory as well.

I have NEVER left the install directory on the server after the installation is complete.

It is always deleted.

Good to know, you read the instructions perfectly.

Sites built on Wordpress, Joomla etc are far more vulnerable to exploits than vbulletin is.

As a licensed vbulletin user, I get regular security updates from vbulletin.com along with the necessary patches. It takes less than 10 minutes to install the patches in most cases.

It's no different from keeping your computer OS up to date.

this kopitiam is suppose to be an entertaining platform to de-stress. it's better not to take anything seriously here. having said that, can't help noticing that there are so many angry people here full of hatred and vengeance for whatever reason probably they don't even know.

imo, there are a lot of "spacemen" here.

There are newly registered chaps using some sort of "ah neh nickname" who is full of hatred and vengeance.
Really pity them about taking things here too seriously. They should go for some anger management course.

I think they are from the same cowardly stocks of losers without any life and need to reproduce their clones for supports and subconsciously boost their sick ego.

Daily, we try to be in a compromised position with SYT, so I dun see what the issue is.

Plenty of people are "de-stressing". It's just that there is a ton of baggage we face each day & it seems to be getting worse
