It is about the community spirit, the sharing and beating adversity.
Why can't Sinkees be less stoic, live with less fear of everything and be less hard on yourselves. Ex-Singaporeans I know learn happiness only after they migrate out of the unhappy country.
Singaporeans on average are richer than Aussies and Kiwis, but ....

Sometimes the poor who sleeps on a thin floor mat could be sleeping soundly than a rich person who sleeps in a king size dunlopilo mattress. U could have a feast on ur dining table but u still dun feel satisfied but the poor who only ate a piece of bread with water will feel overjoyed to have eaten for the day.. #just saying
