Imagine a land full of adorable, lively, friendly dogs! Believe it or not, such a place exists. Territorio de Zaguates translates to ‘Land of Strays’, and is a place in Costa Rica where more than 500 dogs go hiking with volunteers and with people who come to see them.
It’s a free range sanctuary where around 900 dogs roam around and enjoy the open air. They are well-trained and are quick to warm up to new volunteers who come to feed and bathe them.
If you'd like to visit them, you will have to schedule your time with the sanctuary. Once you schedule a visit, you could also adopt one of them. The hike starts at 9 AM and ends at 12.30 PM.
