Can someone explain whether the following operations are possible?
When you download the TraceTogether app the 1st thing it ask is your permission for it to have control over 6 of your phone's functions... the 1st one is taking pictures and videos anytime WITHOUT your knowledge... and you cannot choose your options before activation of the app... so what are the 6 functions besides taking a drain on your battery..?
Let's take a guess... b'cos you can't go further unless you grant it the 1st and most important(?) permission to have control over your phone's cameras...
1: take pictures ANYTIME without your knowledge...
2: take videos ANYTIME without your knowledge...
3: track your location (at all times..? not just at check-in)...
4: send and receive messages through SMS/multimedia...
5: voice recording/voice mail...
6: access to your phone's gallery (that's where your pictures are)...
You're practically giving them complete control over your phone which contains your personal and private information/data... is that not invasion of your privacy... and we will never know for sure who else has access to them for whatever reason than just "contact tracing"... can you trust a government who has not been transparent and honest to you..?
Who is the CEO of the company making this electronic tag..? Why is the government so insistent on pushing this tag on us when the infection rate has gone down and they had said earlier that it would not be necessary... is all this done in preparation to allow their CECA "talents" invasion..?
Will all the data gathered be used for social profiling and limiting our access to services and needs based on this social profiling..?
So your alternative is to get the ugly TraceTogether tag which tracks you 24/7 for about 6 months and you need to contact them for a battery replacement when the memory chip will also be accessed... the device connects with other devices through short range bluetooth... as you know bluetooth connection requires a password but this device doesn't... is it possible that it can also connect to your phone and compromise your data..?
