Can anyone here give a more in depth explaination as to why singapore was kicked out?

I mean logically which country wants less landmass? I think all countries unless forced to would love to increase in landmass and accquire more land. Sg also has good location to enable entrepot trade.

From my own knowledge it was because the tengku wanted to kick out LKY and prevent him from gaining power in malaysia as LKY at that time actually stood a chance to become the PM of malaysia even though he's a chinese but he has very good malay. Actually this doesn't even sound likely as LKY would need to be bumi, LKY would at least have quite a high political standing.

The chinese are not only able to survive but thrive in hostile places like malaysia, thailand, indonesia, philippines and so on. Respect needs to be paid.

When Sickapoor was part of Malaysia during 1965..ppl from both side can enter without passort freely. Can uproot JB come and live
in Sickapoor, no problem, no need passport etc...
Only thing they just need to tell the mudland custom what you bringing into JB, Sickapoor side the custom don't even look into your
car booth they just simply wave and let you passed thru at the custom check point, it was a breeze those time.

Today its the opposite Mudland wave and let you passed thru custom, today you return from JB Sickapoor custom treat you like a suspect,
check car booth, look into car glove compartment, under your seats, got cigarettes?? as thou they want to smoke?

When you're leaving SG for JB, ICA can't recognise you call your name just to confirm if the ICA has issue to the right person...
Tan Ah Kow? Yes, me! wow wow!!!

Sickapoor got kick out of Mudland b'cos our old man was very powderful and influencial, Tengku got jittery, that on fine day oldman
will take over Malaysia. Old can speak many languages, during his speeches he don't to look at written notes, all from his blain, whereas
our dear Tengku has to look at notes written for him..that's the difference..

LKY being a chinese is obviously much more intelligent than the m&ds. No racist just facts.

can LKY really win power in Malaya back then? Tengku probably panicked thinking it's really worth it to sacrifice Singapore just in case, u never know. maybe he should just lock LKY up in KL.

Singapore was indeed EXPELLED from Malaysia.
It was really a defensive position taken by the Tungku. Case of "sendiri-takut" or self-fear.
LKY was and still is very fluent in Bahasa Melayu. His policies as a Malaysia for All Malaysians was not welcomed by those wanting to entrench the Bumi policy into that fledgling nation. To people like Albar and Dr M, LKY was a threat and a formidable figure. They actually feared his brilliance and intelligence.
Nowehere in the Malaysian Constitution is it written that Malaysia MUST have a Malay Muslim as PM.
LKY could easily had became a PM of Malaysia.
And if that was indeed the case, then it would have been completely different picture in Malaysia.
No matter what ppl in this forum may think, in all fairness we should give credit where it is due.
That credit should go to none other then LKY.

No wonder they kicked out sg fucking m&ds wanted to bully other races and run mudland as their own.

Officially, LKY and his buddies were kicked out because the number of Chinese + non-Malays is substantial enough to warrant an equal ethnic count with the Malays, so Tengku didn't want to have to deal with this.

Unofficially, I believe the West didn't want all the hardware and oil (Brunei) to be entirely in possible radical Muslim hands. And so it came to pass that the Republic of Peesai and the Sultanate of Brunei (started off as a protectorate) was formed and not part of the Federation.

Cheers!

Even today in Malaysia, the count is 65% bumi and 35% chinese. But wait a minute, not all bumis are malays. I'd say 15% are those from sabah and sarawak. Therefore, in 1965, bumis are actually minority with singapore included and malays are even less percentage wise.

In any case, Tengku's decision to banish singapore was not agreed by many, even in UMNO. Was it a case that MCA perceived PAP as a threat and prodded tengku to kick them out? Based on last GE, it would suggest that this could be the reason.

When Singapore, sabah and sarawak form a equal union with Malaya, they control about 40% of seats in parliament. when singapore was booted out, sabah and sarawak control only 24% of seats (due to small population although they have a larger land mass). So the biggest losers are the east Malaysians.

Now with seperation, both countries are turning homogeneous. I prefer if both stay racially diverse. Its more interesting.
