Who is going to be the President of Singapore after Tony Tan? Small talk has surfaced that it is going to be Mdm Halimah Yacob, Since the post was created there had been a Malay, an Eurasian, two Indian, and three Chinese Presidents. As the first one was a Malay, it is appropriate that the one succeeding Tony Tan will be a Malay. Being a woman is also a plus point as there had been no female President so far. That she had been made the Speaker of Parliament is probably to raise her status and make her eligible to run for the post. Malay/Muslim neighbouring countries will also be pleased.

Oooi!

If the PE is a walkover than she can win,,if got contender and the contender is TCB,,confirm will loose, they only way the pap can win is to cheat like the last time,,,,anyway what so big deal about having a minority candidate? we already have one and he is none other than KFC,,,he is the Minority President...

Once in 50 years yakult more likely. Notice now stop taking cock liaoz. Most probably preparing to improve image to take on world most Cho bo lan yet highest paid job. Pays to be a pappies running dog.

If them pappies disqualify all the contenders (e.g. this one form not filled up properly, that one character got problem), PE sure walkover and they definitely can appoint whichever overpaid stooge they have in mind to be the guard dog of Istana.

The Singapore presidency is a farce after Ong Teng Cheong.

Agree. Will be a Malay. Few years back, Zainal Abidin's name surfaced. That was before the collapse of Aljunied GRC.

To be fair, Pap do not cheat in PE 2012.

Thanks those who voted for TJS and TKL.

One PHD candidate said this....PAP tweat it so that Tony Tan has better chances to be elected.

His arguments:

1. The two contenders, Tan K L and Tan Jee say do not qualify.

Tan KL is from NTUC... The company funds is not their own...Monies belong to policy holders and the
company does not has a paid up capital of $10 million.

2. Tan Jee Say is Regional Director of a Investment bank.
Monies deposited with the bank can be withdrawn at short notices and does not constitute paid up capital.

Clearly these two contenders were placed to dilute Tan Cheng Bok votes and hence the game rules tweat to favour Tony Tan.

No pap representative will ever be voted in as President of Sinkapore again after the 34% Tony. Unless, of course, they swift the goal post and avoid the vote.
