Milford Road is an unforgettable and spectacular way to reach Milford Sound. It’s a trip to the heart of Fiordland National Park and the Te Wahipounamu area. Along this road you will see the Eglinton Valley, which millions of years ago was full of glacier ice. North Yungas Road is one of those roads that combines the beauty of the landscape with the fear of falling down a slope. In fact, the 50-mile route that links the city of La Paz with the region of Los Yungas is known as the Road of Death. The Overseas Highway allows you to drive over the ocean. With 181 kilometres, it connects Miami with the Florida Keys. Throughout the trip you can see the tropical savannah, wonderful coral reefs, and even dozens of crocodiles looking back at the tourists.

It starts in the capital Reykjavik and runs for 1339 kilometres through fjords, mountains, fishing villages and completely snow-covered areas. Norway’s Atlantic Road is only 8 kilometres long. It links the villages of Vevang and Karvag through a beautiful archipelago and eight low bridges. The Tianmen Mountain Road winds its way through the slopes of Tianmenshan Mountain in China. It’s just over 9 kilometres long, but its 99 bends are endless and it rises to 1,279 metres above the valley. It is known as the Avenue that links to the sky, because it ends at the Tianmen Cave (Gateway to Heaven), a natural rock arch cut into the mountain.
Transfagarasana is the most impressive mountain road in the world. It’s a series of curves, twists and turns dotted with tunnels of up to 800 meters that turn every kilometre there into an adventure. Known as the Troll Staircase, this winding, curving road seems to exist only to make fun of drivers. In reality, however, it is an essential connection between Andalsnes and Valladal, making it one of the most visited areas in the country. The road was built in 1936, took eight years to complete and, among other landscapes, allows you to see the Stigfossen waterfall that pours over green mountains and gravel.
This is the road that everyone has seen a million times in movies. Only 5 miles long, it is one of the most emblematic roads in the United States. Route 163 crosses the red rock desert, the spires of the Navajo country of Utah and Arizona, and the San Juan River, before it ends in the city of Bluff.
