Whether or not the IR exist, gambling problems exist. Loanshark stories and pple committing suicide because of them have been around since before I was born. You are not going to stop these pple just by denying it's existence. You guys talk like this wasn't happening previously. The opening of the IR changed nothing, pple who wants to gamble are still gambling, pple like me who do not gamble are still not gambling. The only difference now is it's more open now because the government is constantly having campaigns to tell you not to gamble, actively having schemes and ways to deny your love ones the right to gamble. Isn't that more effective than just sweeping an existing problem under the carpet?

uncle agreed. those days, playing horses had killed many too....many suicides and many broken families and marriages. as long as you have the gambling in you, and you can't restrain yourself, i think it's going to be very tough for anyone to stop the gambler from destroying his own life....gambling is an addiction....and it should be treated like any addiction....
