I agree the hell gates have been opened and all hell break lose. the MSM is under-reporting things. you know it is a major problem when you get 10 loansharks arrested at 1 time and loansharks getting caught every week now!!!! Multiple that with the people who drinks, fights, suicides, protituitions etc and these casinoes are nothing but bad luck. only benefit that adelson guy and his cronies while 99.99% of the public suffers. A HK man(now PR here) told me the situation here is much worse than HK or Macau. I knew it a long time ago that it would give rise to a lot of problems. LKY was right but his son approved it. and you have his son's kakis crying croc tears for show. local people are too immature to handle casinoes.

In our own ways, we can advise friends NOT to patronise the casinos. Many companies have already banned their employees. Civil servants are also banned. I think we should do our part in telling our fellow Singaporeans, the casinos are trap doors and dangerous.

i agree it is causing alot of harm to locals.Tony tan n lky reject this idea/plan but LHL die die want to carry out at the expenses of us.
After doing harm then offer us useless help.it is like to offer us drug then advise us go rehab.They should stop doing us harm.

Please lah Gambling problems have been around with or without the IR. One of my uncles owe freaking loansharks all the time, I used to have to bear with loansharks writing messages on the lift lobby until the bugger run road to Thailand. Years later now he is old and paralyse from the waist down, still can owe loanshark money. Seriously WTF. Whether or not the casino is around, gambling still exist.

uncle agreed. those days, playing horses had killed many too....many suicides and many broken families and marriages. as long as you have the gambling in you, and you can't restrain yourself, i think it's going to be very tough for anyone to stop the gambler from destroying his own life....gambling is an addiction....and it should be treated like any addiction....
