If Heng Swee Keat is claimed to be as good is hoped for by the PAP, he is the man to watch. He was modest enough in his election speech (at least the parts I am aware) to highlight he is an underdog and quite unprepared for this election.
We will soon know how great he is, as is claimed by his write-up. The thing is if he is that good and shines, LKY may have a problem with that.

He was the Boss of MAS, Tharman's previous Job. It's not that difference from the post of Finance Minister. Tharman has done a pretty good job at it and this guy was part of the team that saved us from the Global Economy Crisis. His credentials probably swing some of the votes back to MBT and saved his ass. He will probably take over one of the ministry pretty soon or be appointed 2nd minister of Finance is LHH kena KO'ed.

If HSK want to take credit for the steering the nation out of the Financial Crisis then he should also take the blame for the minibond fiasco. As CST said succintly "You want to take the credit, you take the fall". Besides most asian countries got through relatively unscath including Indonesia, Malaysia, HongKong, Taiwan, Korea, China, Japan etc.

Talking about the minibond thingy, there is also the bad future contracts bets taken up on fuel that caused us to burden higher energy and electricity costs.
