Everything will eventually come to an end. Good luck or bad luck. When you are in higher realm, you enjoy a lot of things due to good kharmic effect. In the course of enjoying it, you created a lot of bad kharma due to 'tan, chen, chi'. Don't know how to translate. The first one is tan->greed. When the good karmic effect(mean good luck) ends, its time those bad seeds that you have sowed (bad luck) comes back to haunt you. He had a good kharma seed(his wife). He sow and gave the seed the right sunlight, soil, and water. (He caught and married, love and be faithful to her, et cetera...) The fruits is what you have seen all these years.
