The flaws of Singapore’s education system

We have had the education programme for 50 years with one major review and changes that was the Goh Report in early 1979. It was also the same year that speak Mandarin campaign was launched. We now more or less have seen the following traits
- standard of spoken and written English across Singaporeans who left school after the 1980s is now at an all time low. Many cannot construct a simple English sentence despite attending school for 12 years.
- Mandarin as the second language is now widely spoken and interestingly it is not even the other tongue of Singaporeans born before the 1990s.
- Indian, Malay and Eurasian Singaporeans who spent their schooling years in the non-elite schools now speak English with a distinct Ah Beng accent.
- The smarter students in elite schools have over the years learnt to game the system
- Parents began enrolling their kids in after school tuition classes in the early 80s and now more a must for at least Mandarin and Maths.
- Singaporean students have participated in nearly every form of student Olympiads and have won many but have yet to deliver anything of significance in their adult life.

Still waiting for a Nobel laureate to be produced.

Nothing wrong with the system, just that the users are mediocre.reccomend importing more prcs and shitskins.the only thing that should be tweaked is financial literacy should be taught.since this country is mediocre, might as well focus on making money and entrepreneurship.

Still waiting for a Nobel laureate to be produced.

Waiting for nobel laureates to make their own countries as stable, safe and prosperous as Singapore.

Waiting for nobel laureates to make their own countries as stable, safe and prosperous as Singapore.
