By now you should not know that TKL does not qualify automatically to run for President as he does not meet the specific criteria. His hope is that he falls under a special category. The same category as the other 2 chaps who picked up the forms fall under - the Ooi and the Malay businessman. NTUC Income is not a company but a worker's cooperative.

Here is the interesting part of the 3 man committee who will determine the TKL eligibility. 2 of the 3 are connected to Nathan. One is his long time subordinate and the other is the boss of his daughter. The 3rd person had dealt with President in his official capacity.

For all we know, all the efforts will come to naught for TKL. I find there is no compelling reason to make special exception when they already have someone they hope to take the seat contesting. In my mind, I think they can't wait to disqualify him when there is sufficient evidence. We have people criticising President (i.e. Nathan) but yet to encounter a contesting candidate for head of state bringing himself to the level of squaring off with citizens over defamatory/smearing remarks etc. Somehow it automatically tarnishes the image and qualities of a President, not to mention to be a unifying figure for Singaporeans.

Putting aside politics and PAP shennigans. The act is very specific by naming the grade and position in most instances. But it does call for comparative analysis. Here is some food for thought - the following are positions that do not qualify
- MP
- High Court Judge including an Appellate Judge
- Board Director of the biggest company in Singapore

When Andrew Kuan submitted his application, I knew that he was going to be disqualified.

I am sure old man got a shock when TCB applied because that is not the sort of person that they are looking for. They are looking for long standing Captains of Industry. TCB's company is a complete unknown.

You should follow the dots closely. When the claims on CSM first appeared in this forum, I raised hell and high water because they were patently false. I suspect it came from WP supporter close to the action and form him as it was quite detailed but certainly false. He came back again and tried to justify it. I explained why it was false and that he was not disqualified for Medicine because of his outstanding results as he went thru the vocational/aptitude test and failed. The supporter stopped the posting and I suspect that it went back to CSM. Credit to the supporter who knew that it catch them later. The following week CSM was interviewed by the press and he categorically stated that he was rejected by NUS and not disqualified. The Press no longer had the ammunition to run with it. It was snuffed out early.

I did not raise it during the GE thereafter and as it snuffed before the GE began.

We all have our egos and overtime we tend to fool ourselves. It does not matter if someone is Gandhi or Mandela. Something that is false should not be tolerated. Sugar coating makes things worse.

Disqualifying TKL will only confirm his status as oppo. The result for that actually is more of Tony's votes flow towards TCB. TKL should hold talks & Hong Lim rally ASAP, to raise public atmosphere and expectation to lock the pressure against denying TKL subsequently. The victory is NOT really about putting TKL into Istana to be their eunuch. The victory is somewhere else. But using PE as a platform. I don' want to discuss in open forum.

In this game, many times, being disqualified is the biggest victory.

And to fucking Walkover can become the biggest defeat. Look at the one who Limped Over Tanjong Pagar where is he now?

We would be the biggest fucking loser if we played by their rules. They got to play by our rules now, and they are learning slowing.

Is disqualifying Ng Teck Siong by 35 sec a win or lose for LKY on the nomination day? I think LKY scooped his biggest negative political bonus of his fucking life-time on 27 April 2011.
