When the legendary Liem Swie King threw away his racket.

Liem Swie King was invincible until that very night.

So Han Jian was invincible from that very night LOL

Liem Swie King was badminton world smacking king. HJ beat him by inventing defensive badminton forcing LSK to oversmack so many smacks and physically worn out by last set.

Han Jian won everything badminton medal and trophy after that for PRC. Retiring from playing, Malaysia hired him as coach. He coached Malaysian team to beat PRC in Thomas Cup. Sultan granted him honorary Malaysian citizenship and lived in Malaysia ever since as far as I know. His name Han Jian was changed from 韩建 to 汉奸 in PRC LOL

Badminton and football were great in those days.

Because all player are pure citizen. 100% born made in the country. Only coach are import to guide and train the player for any sport in old day. That why all citizen are involve. Now go to stadium support dont even know who are we cheer for ? PRC,...............

1. bro, i can vividly remember those moments when han jian countered lsk stroke for stroke.
2. btw, mr han is still my all-time favourite.
3. although he was very much into defence-play.
4. indonesians were big-time bullies those days on the courts.

hi there

1. bro, thank you for the wonderful memory.
2. well done, mr han jian.
3. i cannot forget when lsk was defeated and his silly manner throwing tantrum

The turning point in world badminton came about when two of Indonesia's great players migrated to China and became coaches.
Han Jian was coached by one of them.
