You like to talk cock and twist facts again....There are 4 official languages. Which one is national language? LKY knew English Language is the medium to communicate with the outside world and for progress and development. If he had adopted Mandarin, Malay or Tamil, the island would have sunk long time ago.

The pappies would not have made changes in their policies if the WP had not won seats in Parliament. Seats won by the WP serve as the warning to the pappies to behave and adopt policies to benefit the natives.
