Health authorities aim to ease the mask-wearing mandate next month.

People in Thailand may no longer be asked to wear masks outside starting mid-June as the country prepares to classify COVID-19 as an endemic disease in July, according to Kiattiphum Wongrajit, permanent secretary of the public health ministry.

Kiattiphum said his team is “confident” about entering the endemic status as planned amid the improving COVID-19 situation.

New guidelines are expected to recommend mask wearing only for at-risk individuals, those in enclosed environments, and at crowded gatherings. This decision, however, needs to be finalized by COVID-19 task force.

Mask-wearing remains widespread despite no force of law.

After peaking in late March, new daily cases have declined to a seven-day average of about 5,200.

On Covid restrictions in ASEAN countries, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia are buddy buddy. Vietnam most tourist friendly so far. Vax Free is no more discriminated.

Over here in Sinkieland, the prices of the boxes of face masks has plummeted.

Now one box is $5, the price used to be double digits. You can find them at some vending machines.

The PAP technocrats, especially that feckless Ong scumbag, will not relinquish restrictions that easily. They will insist on 'being cautious' or 'erring on the side of caution', because they obviously care so much about your health and well-being. :roflmao:

Masks don't make a scrap of difference anyway. In fact if they aren't used appropriately they actually make things worse.

Vietnam welcome unvaxxed? no more stupid test and quarantine?

You'll still be breathing in those bad stuff, because the holes on the mask fabric are large enough to let them pass through.

It is a psychological issue. I bet that many mentally damaged (traumatized) Sinkies will continue to wear a mask even though it has been officially announced that wearing a mask is 100% optional. Two years of brainwashing does this to people.

From May 15, people entering the country are not required to be tested for Covid-19

Vietnam temporarily suspends the requirement for Covid-19 testing for people entering the country from 0:00 on May 15, according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

According to the telegram dated May 13, the Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Health to closely monitor the epidemic situation for appropriate guidance.
