SINGAPORE (REUTERS) - Former World Bank president Robert Zoellick is to join the board of Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd later this month.

Mr Zoellick, 60, who left his position at the World Bank last year, will be the first recruit to the investor's board by its new chairman Lim Boon Heng.

"Over the years, I have also come to know Temasek well, and have followed its growing reputation as a well-regarded international investor," Mr Zoellick said in a statement released by the investor.

"Its commitment to strong corporate governance principles is very important to set the tone in international investing".​

A former world bank banker reporting to a 'cho bo lan' person in PMO for 3 decades...we are really deep trouble!! surely so many decades as a financial centre, some more one of the best in the world, & that is really an achievement, we can not get one of good credentials, experience & know how to head "Them Masak"??

Our future is looking very grim..especially our retirement money...they do have a moral standard but the compass is faulty!!

Please, sibeh heng was in Them Masak for some time, before they wayang the announcement...the 'birdies, tweet, tweet, tweet, that Lee Boon Yang is there too...so this "toe lick" appointment, is not one day in the making...sibeh heng job, is to rubber stamp..'nod his head'...& 'toe lick' isn't licking, the "puppet masters' will tell sibeh heng..give that lick a kick!...get it!
