In preparation for the upcoming General Election on Dec 14, the Lee Hsien Loong dictatorship has begun suing writers and banning news websites. Australia-based website Temasek Review was banned without any notice from the authorities, and neither was there any offending article that led to the ban.
Just last week, Lee Hsien Loong filed for defamation claims amounting to more than S$150,000 from the editor of news site TOC, Terry Xu. The dictator Prime Minister claimed that he has been “gravely injured” from the news article republishing comments of his sister, who revealed that Lee Hsien Loong tried to misled his father into changing his last will of demolishing 38 Oxley Road.
Singaporeans are however still able to access Temasek Review website by changing their DNS server to Google:
The ruling party dictatorship will also be introducing new laws to censor internet comments and criticisms on the government ahead of the elections.
Ground sentiments are especially negative against the ruling party today after the economy went into a recession earlier this month, unemployment rate hitting decade-high and numerous tax raises increasing the cost of living pressure.
