Temasek Review’s response to TNP’s misleading article

We refer to the article dated 9th September 2010 by The New Paper entitled “IS THIS DOCTOR BEHIND TEMASEK REVIEW?” and its subsequent related articles.

We wish to state for the record:

1. Dr Joseph is NOT investigated by the authorities for his involvement with the then Wayang Party (now Temasek Review).

2. Dr Joseph is NOT part of our present editorial team.

3. Temasek Review was NEVER closed due to investigation by the authorities into his affairs as falsely claimed by the journalist.

As far as we are concerned, we were not approached by the journalist from The New Paper for the interview and the insinuations expressed by the journalist are of her own imagination and misleading.

We welcome interviews from fellow journalist (professionals not spin doctors) by posting them here or read: Temasek Review featured as an empirical example of a successful Socio-Political Blogs in Singapore for our reply to a journalist’s FAQ.

I wonder if the guys from TR read a different article then the rest of us. TNP stated, quite clearly that Dr Joseph Ong was investigated for his involvement in the Jamban Lee incident. Police investigation had nothing to do with his links with TR or Wayang Party. TNP's own investigation has to do with Dr Ong's involvement with WP and TR.

As for whether he is still involved with TR, well, judging from their past record of trying to hide facts, mistakes and major blunders, and actively posting irresponsible and irrational articles I won't be surprise to see anything from TR

Quite amazing this chap's penchant for lying and taking readers as fools.

A day after this exposee, the TR immediately had a willing Editor Pamela Tian step up and they hired her.. Even the opposition has never been able to do it - they have been looking for years for successors. And she immediately spoke up for TR and JO with short notice to understand his background.

The writing style has also never changed no matter how many writers and editors they have.

Not really true, it actually subtly and indirectly admitted that this Dr. Joe Ong was with the "PAST" editorial of TR/Wayang Party.

If Joseph Ong is not a part of TR or WP, how do they know whether Tan was being investigated or not?

Joseph Ong is not part of the "present" editoral? But it didn't say whether he owned TR or not! Or whether he was part of the editor 2 days ago (maybe he resigned the yesterday?).

Look who is calling others Spin doctors and use the term "fellow journalist"? They must be implying they are "Journalist" and "Professionals" !! Shameless

I was referring to the emergence of this "Pamela Tian".

And would you think that if this chap started Wayang Party he would give up the site in less than half a year to a "Eugene Yeo" and "Fang Zhi Yuan"? And then this 2 give up to 7 editors? Mind you people do not give up their pet sites in just months.

If the fast surrendering of the site is not weird enough, the weirder thing is, while everyone from opposition parties to TOC had renewal problems, these chaps sure can recruit like the Afghanistan army or a megachurch. From 1 to 7 in just one year. Most people running websites do not bother with succession or can find successors anyway.

Actually TR should disassociate with Joseph Ong. Not trying to help explain Joseph Ong is not with TR.

They "seemed to be very very familiar" that Joseph Ong was not investigated for his involvement with then Wayang party

I like this part exactly.

The insinuations expressed in many of the articles published by Temasek Review are of their own imagination and misleading.

TR had a good time doing and writing whatever they like, many of their own imagination and misleading. This time is a good time to let them have a taste of their own medicine.
