Teen serial molest suspect arrested

SINGAPORE : Police have arrested a 17-year-old serial molest suspect in the Jurong West area.

He is believed to have struck in the vicinity from October last year to March this year.

His youngest victim was said to be just 11 years old.

He was detained by a member of the public on Thursday after he allegedly molested a 16-year-old girl.

The police said he admitted to the earlier cases on questioning.

The suspect will be charged in court on Saturday with "outrage of modesty".

If convicted, he can be jailed up to two years, or fined, and caned.

A POLYTECHNIC student charged a week ago with molesting a teen was slapped with five more charges of outrage of modesty on Friday.

Lim Yang Tee, 16, is said to have molested five girls aged 11 to 13 in lifts at various Housing Board blocks in Jurong West between October 2010 and March this year.

He was arrested last Thursday by police over the latest incident that day for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old girl outside a lift lobby at a block of flats in Jurong West.

Lim, represented by Mr Anthony Lim, has been remanded for psychiatric assessment.

He will be back in court on June 10.

If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to two years or fine or caning or any combination of punishments.
