A 17-YEAR-OLD student first got to know a primary school pupil through online networking website Friendster and decided to befriend her.
But within a month of their online encounter in August last year, Muhammad Saifulddin Abu Samad, a student at Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Bishan at the time, asked her for sex.
When they met for the second time in late September, Muhammad Saifulddin groped her.
He would go on to get her to perform oral sex on him the following month.
Yesterday, a district court adjourned sentencing for Muhammad Saifulddin, pending more information on his suitability for probation and reformative training.
If he is found suitable for such a regime, Muhammad Saifulddin may be sent to a reformative training centre where he would be confined for at least 18 months.
The teen was convicted last month of making the girl, a minor, perform oral sex on him.
The court heard how the youth had taken advantage of the girl, who was a Primary 6 pupil at the time. The court ordered that the girl not be named nor any detail that could reveal her identity be published.
The girl had initially turned down his requests for sex as she was afraid of becoming pregnant.
However, they kept in touch through telephone calls and text messages and on Sept 22 last year, they met at the void deck of her flat in the afternoon.
At the eighth-floor staircase landing, they kissed and started to get intimate. However, they heard her uncle calling her name and she quickly returned home.
Six days later, they went to the same staircase landing and this time, Muhammad Saifulddin put his hands under her clothes and touched her.
He went further on Oct 5, when he asked her to perform oral sex on him. She refused at first but gave in when he raised his voice.
The girl told some classmates the next day and the teacher got to hear of it and informed the parents.
A police report was lodged in late October.
Muhammad Saifulddin could have been jailed for up to 10 years and/or fined up to $10,000 for making the girl perform oral sex on him.
The charge of touching her private parts will be taken into consideration by the judge when he sentences the teen on Sept 29.
