How to do freeze motion with Xenon Flash?

Nokia Lumia 928 picture sample shows the ability of the Xenon flash to freeze motion

8MPsi3bh_thumb.jpg

The Optical Image Stabilization in the Nokia Lumia 920 and 928 offers blur-free pictures by compensating for motion of your hand, but what if your subject is moving, like a busy scene in low light when long shutter times will just create motion artefacts everywhere?

That’s where the Xenon flash, which delivers short pulses of light at high intensity on the Nokia Lumia 928 comes it.

As can be seen in the picture above, the flash is powerful enough to provide the short shutter times needed to allow the Nokia Lumia 928 to freeze the motion of the fan blades.

The picture below shows what it would look like without the Xenon flash.

The samples above shows just one more reason that Nokia smartphones rightly have a reputation for great picture taking, something Nokia is now delivering on in spades in their latest Lumia handsets.

Windows phones: nobody wants them.

There's no point having great hardware if the software is shit.

Switch off the fan before taking the photo.

Hey presto! Xenon flash 'freezes' motion.

Such outlandish claims. Stephen Elop must be desperate for those shitty Windows phones to sell. Must be the work of the Microsoft marketing department.

Nokia had previously made phones with a Xenon flash, but no 'freeze the motion' claims were made.
