Teachers are hoping for the Presidential Election to be held on Saturday, Aug 27, so they can get a longer break.

The Hari Raya Puasa public holiday, a Teachers' Day school holiday and a half-day for Teachers' Day celebrations, and an off-in-lieu on Aug 29 would mean they would probably only work a full day on Wednesday of that week.

Teachers The New Paper spoke to said there has been no official word, but most are hoping for their holiday wishes to come true.

More in The New Paper on Friday (July 15).

hi there

1. aiyoh!
2. needless to say man.
3. at least sheep are reap something "beneficial" from the useless presdy thing.
4. a good break!

We got 3 assholes running for president, whoever wins, we lose!!!

Tan Kim Lian is the biggest of the 3 assholes. Everything he has done so far screams ulterior motive
Tan Cheng Bock is no better, only difference is he is smart enough to keep a lower profile then the above asshole
Tony Tan is likely the least asshole of the 3 but he is going to be another Nathan if elected.

Like I said, whoever wins, we all lose. I'm gonna spoil my vote

All these Civil Serpents only think of eating snake and longer breaks... For service staff extra holiday means double rate!
