Teacher was said to have been selling sex enhancement products that included drugs, gels and pills.
JOHOR BARU, MALAYSIA: Disciplinary action will be taken against a teacher here if it is proven that he had sold sex drugs to students, the Education Ministry said.
“We will not tolerate such behaviour,” Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong told newsmen after launching a Jalur Gemilang distribution ceremony here yesterday.
Dr Wee was commenting about the incident in Skudai, where a parent discovered that a disciplinary teacher at his son’s school had been selling sex enhancement drugs.
He said the Johor Education Department had been instructed to investigate the matter.
“The allegation must be verified. It’s too soon to make a conclusion but I hope the investigation will shed more light on the matter,” he added.
Businessman Ng Ching Sea, 58, was surprised to discover brochures on sex enhancement drugs among his son’s books on Saturday.
The father was shocked when told that the products in the brochures were being sold by the school’s disciplinary teacher.
The teacher was said to have been selling sex enhancement products that included drugs, gels and pills.
On another issue, Dr Wee urged school administrators to co-operate closely with the police to curb gangsterism.
He advised school administrators and students to report to the police if they noticed suspicious characters loitering near or inside their school compound.
“Swift action must be taken as the safety of students cannot be compromised,” he added.
On a separate matter, Dr Wee, who is also Johor Baru MCA chief, said his division had registered 100 new voters during the past two weeks.
“We expect to register more than 500 voters by the end of the year,” he added.
