Teacher faces theft, trespassing charges

SINGAPORE: A secondary school teacher has been charged in court with stealing three SD cards from the operation manager's office on February 15, 2012.

This brings the total number of charges Ngien Wen-Tseah Bertrand faces, to four.

Thirty-seven-year-old Ngien is also accused of trespassing the female toilet at Yu Hua Secondary School, with intent to insult modesty of users, on three occasions over the past two months.

Ngien, who has been remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric evaluation, will stay there for another two weeks to complete the tests.

If convicted of trespassing, he faces a jail term of three months, a fine of up to S$1,500, or both on each count.

For theft, Ngien faces a maximum jail term of three years or a fine, or both.
