Taxi drivers used to be super sialan, especially during peak hours, until the advent of Grab. In JB they used to bypass the law on meter fare. At KSL the taxis would form a beeline and negotiate fare with you. With Grab, these taxi drivers now eat themselves. Sibei Ho ! In Pattaya, taxis used to be a monopoly controlled by the mafia. If you didn't have a bike, you would have had to think twice about going faraway places like Sattahip and Na Jomtien. Now the taxis all lan lan.​
