Tawau man gets 105 years’ jail, 70 strokes for raping eldest daughter

PETALING JAYA: A 53-year-old man in Tawau has been sentenced to 105 years in jail and 70 strokes of the cane after pleading guilty to seven charges of raping his eldest child.
The accused, charged under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, was said to have emotionally coerced the victim, now aged 25, by harping on the sacrifices he made to cover family expenses and her education, before forcing her to book a hotel room where she was raped, reported Sinar Harian.
The accused was said to have obtained the victim's work schedule to identify her off days before instructing her to book a hotel room.
The offences were said to have been committed at several hotels in the district between December 2025 and March 2026.
Judge Ahmad Faizadh Yahaya also ordered the accused to undergo counseling sessions throughout his imprisonment and to be placed under police supervision for three years after completing his prison term.
The same accused had also been ordered to serve 165 years in prison and to be whipped 110 times after pleading guilty to 11 charges of raping two of his biological daughters, now 25 and 22, at the Lahad Datu Sessions Court on April 8.
The offences were said to have been committed at various locations in Lahad Datu between 2016 and 2026.
Deputy Public Prosecutors Muhammad Haikal Md Yatin and Wildan Firdaus Ahmad Fazly prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
