He dropped out of school, never completed his O levels and got his first tattoo at 15.
But Mr Joshua Ong, 41, who goes by the artist name of Jaws Tat, runs the Johnny Two Thumb tattoo studio, a business that has been around since the early 1950s.
Mr Ong, who lives in East Coast, said he loves how Singapore has evolved into the city it is today.
“What I really like is how well structured our country is, the tall buildings and the cleanliness.
“I’m glad I have seen the changes in Singapore since the 1980s. The younger generation don’t get to see what Singapore was like previously.”
