I believe that not many of us would have all the facts to pass judgment.
I know a friend who left nursing after working for more than five years. Went into IT or software work.
The salaries for RN in Toronto may be very good (up to $90,000 a year, with employer sponsored pension), but the work is intense and stressful. Some days, there is no time for meals, especially when the section is short of a RN.
I hope she find alternative interesting and decent salary work.

6.9th year burnout. very common in nursing profession. moreover pay is low and for those slogging it out in sillycon valley 69% of their monthly incums after tax go to rent. very tough financial life when compared to a techie making us$369k a year plus stock options. even a techie earning us$369k can’t afford a home in sillycon valley. they need to find a partner making the same amount to be able to make mortgage and property tax payments. at least us$699k per year.
