Many Singaporeans think that they are better off than Malaysians because they earn say 3,000 SGD while the Malaysians earn 3,000 RM and the SGD is more than 3 times higher than RM.

They overlook one important point.

The cost of housing and private cars in Singapore is high. The disposable income for food may be only 20% or say 600 SGD

The cost of housing and private cars in Malaysia is much lower, which means that they have a higher disposable income to pay for their food. I think it could be 40%

Another factor is the same food that costs RM 12 will not cost $3.50 in Singapore but may cost $8. After allowing for the lower disposable income, the Singaporean is likely to struggle with the cost of food, in the same way that the Malaysians have to struggle with higher costs.

This is my observation. I may be wrong.

I don't think sinkies that earn $3k will think this way as I belonged to this group earning $3.5k
My thought is a Lppl draw for both sinkie earning sgd3k and mudland earning rm3k, with mudland having an advantage of lower housing cost.

There is always something I find puzzling in mudland. Those more well known products eg branded sports wear, Watson products are much more expensive than sg and I always wonder how their people can afford it with their rm, as after sgd conversion they are still more expensive than sg.

Their medical products are also inconsistent.
Certain things are much cheaper than sg but certain things are much more expensive, both online and in store.

This Tan Kin Lian eat too full diam diam show videos of Jiuhu eateries , transport ...
Why no show their HV Spa or massage parlour ?
Still wanna hog the limelight after 2 failed presidential election.
So if he were to become President , we will follow Jiuhu way of life ?

Probably regional office and distribution is in sinkie

Smart msian will go neighbors country and steal rice bowl. Not only sinkie, they can even go Japan work illegally. They also got go aus and many more.

TKL is another of those useless Oppie Indian Cheef wannabes. At least he neber form his own party, I salute him

Very Nice,

While S'pore is a prosperous country, a significant portion of S'poreans have low disposable income and face financial stress. This is attributed to rising inflation, the cost of living and wage inequality, as well as govt policies and economic conditions. Are we better off than Malaysians? My cousin and his wife enjoy the best of both worlds after working for decades in S'pore, before retiring back in Ipoh where they own a sprawling landed home and 2 cars.

This guy should have become President, he would have been as hilarious, entertaining and capable as Trump.:eek::tongue:

Probably Malaysians (those who stayed instead of converting to Singaporeans) have the last laugh. They cannot afford a landed property, a car, cheaper food and can holiday in Malaysia on wheels.. Something Singaporeans can’t.
