This guy really got many people talking to him ....

He keep saying many people say this, and many people say that .... but what exactly are his own thoughts?

-------

Many people have asked me, "Mr. Tan, if you were the Elected President, what would you do to follow the steps taken by President Ong Teng Cheong to safeguard our reserves"?

I have written this paper to explain the issues involved in performing this role and the new approach that I intend to take, if I were elected as President.

------------

My name is Tan Kin Lian. I am standing for election as President of Singapore.
Many people have told me that they want a President who can:
- Be a voice of the people
- Be independent of the PAP Government
- Safeguard their CPF money and the national reserve

-----------

Many people want me to be the voice of the people. I check the constitution to see if this is forbidden. I did not find any statement that the President must be dumb and mute

-----------

While they did not name the Presidential hopeful, "many people say those statements were targeted at me", said Tan.

----------

Many people have given feedback about the transport system in Hong Kong, which they find to be convenient and efficient.
I hope that the new transport minister will take a look, or ask his officials to study the Hong Kong system.

----------

Many people said that an alternative party needs more than one person. How do you expect other people to come forward? They are not willing to sacrifice their career. They will be subject to discrimination. Maybe 100,000 signatures will change their mind.

Haha....this is good...Brings to attention another funny side of him, a contender for the top head of state post. :D

Really good submission by TS. Had a good laugh. Can you imagine this guy going to the Istana. He will be joke from day 1. He will probably go to bed each day thinking that many people are supporting him.

This is TKL's some people ...

Beside TKL's Many People .... there is also some people ....

Some people commented in some blogs that it would have been better for me to participate in the general election, rather than the presidential election. I like to explain my decision....

--------

Some people may prefer some other candidates and not me, but that is all right. There is really no need for them to insult me or smears my character or reputation.....

-------------

Some people will know which smear statements are rubbish and should be ignored. But there are other people who ask - is this true? We do have quite a large segment of people who are fickle and naive, and may believe the smears...

Some people have the impression that the older generation supports the PAP and the younger generation is likely to vote differently. From the results of many surveys carried out in my blog, I come to a different conclusion....

Some people say that all their non-endorsed candidates will be declared ineligible. I do not agree. If this is the outcome, there is no need for TT to stand. I expect that there will be a 2 or 3 corner contest.”

And he had the press to thank for his wife's go-ahead,he said. "She's worried about what others think. Her friends stoked her fears too, telling her how some people would say nasty things.

Yesterday, when contacted by this newspaper, Mr Tan Kin Lian explained that the thought arose after some people had asked him to do so, in order "to give the other candidate a better chance against Dr Tony Tan" - a view that was shared by political observers whom Today spoke to.

Minister for Health Khaw Boon Wan suggested that some people can consider sending their elderly parents to a nursing home in Johor Bahru, where the cost is less than half of the cost in Singapore.

There are some people who have said, in the Internet, that they would give their votes to the candidates who state specifically the amount that they would donate away to charity from the salary of the President. I do not intend to respond to their call and give any specific figure or guarantee.

Some people have been warned by the police against protesting outside DBS’s Shenton Way headquarters. For those who wish to take effective action, I urge that you first master your own emotions before fighting back.

Some people are sceptical. They say that this slogan is nice to say, but difficult to achieve. In some respect, they are right.

Mr Tan told Today that "some people have suspicions I'm doing this for the S$4 million salary". He added: "But I've said I'm going to donate most of it to charity." "So it's not for the salary ... I am doing this not for myself, but to give the people in Singapore a choice."

On FaceBook, Tan Kin Lian recently wrote: Some people want to donate to my campaign, but they prefer to be anonymous. The election rules require all donations to be from Singapore citizens and to be recorded. I suggest that they can ask a friend (who is a Singaporean) to make the donation – if they do not wish to be named.

Bro

Now I have to another thread on some people. Maybe he is indeed the "people" president.

He's a one man feedback unit. The right person for REACH, then you can sack the rest.

Some people like to talk cock sing song and many people like to "listen" to them talk cock sing song.

Looks like the many people also disappeared from this forum. And am surprised that the telecommunications infrastructure in hk is so bad that some people cannot access this forum:( My friend told me so too.:o

"TKL has two websites, a blog, and two FB accounts. Although he is active on the Internet, there are three significant differences in his online approach compared to the other two Tans.

The first difference is that he will copy others' praises or endorsements for him and directly paste them onto his blogs or FBs. In contrast, TCB did not even link the Teochew video* which a supporter had made to sing his praises onto his own blog or FB.

TKL will delete most comments which criticise him or cast doubt on his candidacy. Some who protested against this are banned from his FB.

The second difference is that TKL links those articles which criticise his opponents on his FB and website. For example, TR had published an an anonymously written article criticizing TT’s policies while he was Minister of Education. TKL linked it and provided a short extract of the article on his blog.

TCB would also occasionally upload contents covering his political brushes with TT or other ministers, but those are factual information from TCB’s -past record as an MP.

The third difference is that TKL is the only EP candidate publicly seeking donations on the internet. He wrote: " I want to test the character of the Singaporeans to see if they are willing to come forward and play a part, or expect other people to fight for them."
