Good point. So altho the post does not give him much leverage or power, the use of social media can indeed act as a pressure point. All he needs to do is for his facebook to become a honeypot for grouses, grumbles, grievances and complaints, and he may not even have to do anything - just let it ride on the publicity and circulation on the Net and get picked up by the MSM.
In these days of social media, what is to prevent a president from having a social media blog. How about " talk to the Pres". Nothing to stop him from using that position to sound out his views. No doubt he is powerless but he is still elected by the people so there is some form of mandate, especially if he wins with a 75% margin.
