What you say in principle is right except the sneaky PAP amended legislation to provide NCMP with full voting rights to further coat their sham creation....but the max 12 NCMP votes would still be irrelevant since PAP would have a super majority well over 2/3 seats which means they can still pass any bill they want without any problems.Tan Cheng Bock is correct in declining NCMP. Singaporean should live with their votes. If they really want oppositions, then vote for them. If not, live with only PAP. NCMP is a joke. Make noise with no voting right is all empty talk in parliament.
TCB a big big mistake
swallowed the bait line sinker all in one
lost everything
so sad for a man of his calibre
should have gone solo
kept his smc around ayer rajah
and be a kind counseller in parliament
now sans nothing at all ...sad....

Luckily the younger Singaporeans don't seem to buy into this shamThe problem with the NCMP is that PAP want to let naïve Singaporeans think that there are opposition voice in the Parliament so Singaporeans don't have to vote in a real opposition to question and oppose PAP in Parliament. This kind of thinking allows PAP to hold majority with the facade that there are opposition voices in Parliament but in fact this is very flawed. Those "opposition" voice means nothing in the end with no voting right. It is appearance with no substance.
