For his fail efforts in re-capturing Hougang SMC, this "Always Here For You" Desmond Choo is now rewarded with a backdoor to parliament via Tampines GRC.

Tampines MP Irene Ng won’t run in this coming General Election, making way for Desmond ‘Always Here for You’ Choo
August 7, 2015
Irene Ng, three-term MP for Tampines GRC, announced on Friday that she will not be running in the coming general election.
The MP for the Tampines Changkat ward said she had asked Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong some time last year if she could step down to make way for new blood, reported The Straits Times.
During a speech at the National Day Family Carnival, Ng who has been in office since 2001, said: “It was not an easy decision to make as I have come to be very close to this community, and all of you have become like family.”
Speculation is rife that Ng will be succeeded by Desmond Choo, who previously lost to the Workers’ Party’s Yaw Shin Leong in Hougang in the 2011 General Election, and was again defeated by Png Eng Huat in the by-election a year later.
Please note, by the way, that his campaign slogan during the Hougang by-election was “Always Here for You“.
Choo was last year named the second adviser to the grassroots organisations in Tampines East — a ward currently helmed by Mah Bow Tan. In February, Choo took up the same position in Tampines Changkat, under Ng.
And judging from his Facebook posts, he’s working the ground in Tampines:
He is currently still the deputy director at the National Trades Union Congress.
Tampines residents, we hope he will always be here for you too. Except, of course, that in this case, one term is already longer than always.
