根本來不及阻止！高鐵台南站昨（13）日發生全台第一起墜落月台死亡案，死者黃姓男子今年21歲，當時正上完大夜班，準備搭車到嘉義，沒想到卻從近13公尺高的月台墜下，當場爆頭身亡，嚇壞目擊者，死者的家屬表示，黃男生前看不出有輕生念頭，事發當時甚至買了早餐。

目擊黃姓男子墜落的計程車司機提到，事發當時他和其他司機正在聊天，抬頭一看，發現黃男正要跳下，才要出聲阻止，沒想到對方已經墜落，落地發出巨響，前後時間還不到0.1秒。
台灣高鐵聲明「車站月台離地高度若超過3公尺以上，護欄高度皆為1.3公尺高，且施加在欄杆上之任一方向、任一點載重為100公斤」，能推斷黃男是自己爬上欄杆墜下，但是甚麼原因仍不得而知，經警方調查，現場沒有遺書，但在他身上找到了高鐵車票，一旁還放著剛買的早餐。

黃男高中畢業後就進入社會工作，目前在超商上大夜班，他的家屬坦言，黃男過去曾因罹患某種罕見疾病就醫，最近並沒有按時吃藥，而且黃男沒有在嘉義的朋友，不明白為何訂了到嘉義的車票，但同時也表示他生前看不出有任何輕生的念頭。
警方初步研判黃男是輕生尋短，也已調閱月台監視器，並協請台南市政府警察局鑑識人員協助採證，究竟黃男是不小心墜落還是自殺尋短，這些都得待進一步釐清。

台鐵人員：「站在剪票口的門口，那個地方是旅客最多的，我們站在那個地方。」醫生表示男子腦部，出現微量出血，經過急救之後情況穩定。
彰基發言人周志中：「目前我們在多處外傷的診斷之下，我們依住院程序，那進一步的檢查，需要由電腦斷層、X光片去確定。」
