行政院長蘇貞昌昨日在立法院備詢談及兩岸議題時表示，給他一支掃帚都跟對岸拚。今（23）日台中市長盧秀燕出席太平區新高國小新設校舍新建工程動土典禮時表示，蘇貞昌這是嚴重失言，政府應該維持兩岸和平，讓台灣人民安居樂業。
盧秀燕表示，近日發現許多民眾對於政府這些議題的談話非常擔心，感覺戰爭好像真的快要爆發了，民眾真正希望的是政府能致力兩岸和平。
盧秀燕批評，蘇貞昌說要拿掃帚奮勇抗敵，蔡英文說如果戰爭爆發可以做第一波抵抗並等其他國家來救援，這些話都是「嚴重失言」，「這是何等笑話」，以致人心惶惶。中央政府既負責兩岸、國防外交，總統和行政院長應該要安定民心，讓人民沒有後顧之憂。
盧秀燕希望，蔡英文和蘇貞昌能夠盡快調整談話方式，告訴人民政府如何讓兩岸維持和平，他認為這才是比較重要的方向。
