Police rope in foreign domestic helpers to fight crime

SINGAPORE: Singapore police organised a community event at Lentor estate on Saturday to raise awareness of crime among foreign domestic helpers.

The event was also aimed at enlisting domestic helpers to fight crime in private housing estates.

Police said foreign domestic helpers are a mainstay of private housing estates, and they often have close bonds.

They could help one another look out for criminals who might be surveying the estate in the day for targets that they could hit on later.

Training foreign domestic helpers in crime prevention would help raise the overall security of the neighbourhood.

The event on Saturday attracted 300 participants, including 78 foreign domestic helpers and their employers.

The topics touched on included house-breaking and theft, trespassing, outrage of modesty, and dealing with suspicious characters. - CNA/xq

Of all the police reports I ve filed, none resulted in resolution......... many have been swept under the carpet with most having gotten window dressing treatment like writing to banks for details and letting you know....... plus all are case closed without solving them or informing you.................... n the officers kept on promoted!!!!
