The dossier has proved that the “good people” from the Hammerrhoid “good office” had indeed demanded extra money from the hawkers for cleaning the high ceilings on many occasions in front of many witnesses:
Dossier which accompanied Minister Vivian Balakrishnan's Responses to Supplementary Questions for PQ1238 On The Role of Town Councils In The Maintenance And Cleaning Of Hawker Centres Under Their Charge, 9 July

When confronted with such damaging evidence, Syvliar Lim had failed to dispute the dossier’s authenticity. She did not challenge the creditability of the witnesses. She had in fact acknowledged that such meetings had taken place and that her “good people” from her “good office” had indeed made that extra demand for cash from the hawkers.
Yet, Syvliar Lim continues to claim that her “good people” did not ask for extra cash from the hawkers with such hard evidence staring into her eyes:

Either Syvliar Lim is an illiterate and does not know how to read simple English (as she also does not know how to read email from the NEA) …
………Or, simply, she is a despicable liar.

8 March 2013 Mr Tai informed NEA and the hawkers that AHPETC would not clean
areas above 2.5m, and if the hawkers wanted those cleaned, they would have to pay
the extra cost of doing so.
26 Apr 2013 – The hawkers of Blk 511 had become aware of the unresolved
problems that had been experienced by the Blk 538 hawkers. There was a meeting
on 26 Apr 2013 involving NEA, Blk 511 hawkers’ association and AHPETC. At this
meeting, Mr Tai again asserted that the AHPETC would not be cleaning the high
areas of the centre and that such costs had to be borne by the hawkers. His position
did not change despite attempts by NEA to persuade him.
28 Apr 2013 – Mr Jonathan Oh, Chairman of Blk 511 Hawkers' Association, met Mr
Tai, who told him that an additional lump sum of $400 would have to be paid by the
hawkers for the scaffolding for the cleaning of high areas to be erected.

Ms Syvliar Lim:
45 Thank you Madam. Minister, it is still the consistent position of our Town Council that Mr Tai at no time said that the hawkers had to pay extra to fulfil the Town Council’s annual obligation to clean the high areas. At no time was this said, and I don’t think these documents show that either.
