A worrying incident occurred at a school in Bern's West, which startled the school community and parents. Several students of the 5th and 6th students Class took place on the 13th December during the break against a teacher of the break supervisor. According to a letter from headmaster Sebastian Teuscher to the parents of the three affected classes, the children formed a mob, stood in the way of the teacher, circled them and shouted religious sayings such as "Allahu Akbar".

Headmisler Teuscher describes the situation as "shocking" and "not tolerable". He stresses that such incidents must be taken seriously, which is also part of the educational treatment of the situation. The school has already taken action, including the separate supervision of the classes involved and disciplinary measures against the pupils.

The incident is seen in the context of the concept of the "new authority" that is being used in more and more Bern schools. This concept is based on presence, transparency and relationship. Teuscher stresses that it is too early for compensation and that the children must first feel clearly that they have crossed borders.

The incident also raises questions regarding the influence of religious slogans from their parents' house. However, Teuscher interprets this rather as a childish provocation. Many parents of the students involved have already reacted and did not approve the behavior of their children.

Andreas Heuer, president of the responsible school commission, does not see the incident as dramatic for the situation at schools in Bern's West. He stresses that violence is rare and that schools are rare. This year also sees positive aspects: Despite high proportions of migration and poverty, almost all students find an apprenticeship or connection solution.

The school authorities are trying to convey a balanced picture of the situation and stress that the schools in the Bethlehem school district are not comparable to problem districts in other countries.

I dunno when muslims are fixated with " Allahu akbar".
Initially, they were liberators against oppressive Roman slavery.
